Saint Cupcake – Portland Oregon
The other night while hanging around Nob Hill, we decided to stop in and get some Saint Cupcakes cupcakes (is that redundant to say it twice?). I have had them before at numerous events but had never been into their NW store. The interior itself is decorated like a cupcake, painted chocolate and pink with lots of polka dots and on one wall, in beautiful writing is the story of Saint Cupcake (I’m not going to tell you, you have to go in and read it yourself). As you can see from the photo, we had a large assortment of small cupcakes and each and every one of them was so delicious only 1 actually made it to the car ride home, and there was an attempt by a 2 year old to eat it for breakfast the very next day. Next time you are out checking out the old Victorian architecture in the Alphabet District, stop in for a cupcake and oh by the way, they serve Stumptown coffee too!

Cup and Saucer Cafe
I’m not sure how long this restaurant has been open but I can remember coming here for what seems like forever. I was surprised to see that the Hawthorne location that I went to this morning had expanded into what used to be the old Coffee Merchant (RIP Coffee Merchant…tears) store. This transformation probably happened a while ago, it’s just been a long time since I have been to the Cup & Saucer. In fact, the reason why I have not been to the Cup & Saucer in a while is because every time I think about going, I dread the horribly long wait, but it looks like that problem is solved (they also have 2 more locations to split things up a little more). The breakfast was really good and I didn’t feel rushed by people cramming around the front door waiting for a table because there was enough room for everyone! My 2 year old had a pancake that was cooked in the shape of a bears face, decorate with fruit slices….very cute and it kept him busy for quite a while sawing the ears off etc.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters

All Portlanders already know, this is coffee at it’s finest. If you are from out of town, make Stumptown one of your first stops in the City of Roses. They have a special university that they not only send their baristas to but also give classes for cafes that serve their product to ensure it is prepared correctly.
Multiple Locations:
Sydney’s Cafe NW Portland
Yes, that is a picture of me blogging or twittering at the cafe! This has quickly become one of my new favorite cafes in Portland due to it’s proximity to the main office (not that I spend very much time there) and due to the great drinks and food. They have a cute area for kids that has toys and a couple of flat screens that show constant nature animal footage.

The Airplay Cafe
In the past couple of months I have been to the Airplay Cafe at least once per week (if not twice!). The mornings, around 10am caters to the 4 and under crowd and they have live music for kids, I said LIVE MUSIC for kids! The owners are brilliant for opening this type of cafe with family activities. Every time we go it is beyond packed, so if you do try it out come a little early to get a seat. In the evenings they cater to an older crowd with great musicians and adult beverages.

Bipartisan Cafe
The Bipartisan Cafe is one huge reason why everyone should want to buy a house in Montavilla (SE Portland). Located on the Stark street village strip between SE 79th and 80th this cozy cafe serves up amazing Stumptown coffee and home made pies with fun flavors like pear berry or strawberry rhubarb. If you buy a house with me, one of these lovely pies will most likely make it to your counter on closing day.
