There are a lot of great things going on this weekend.
Friday
- Chicken Fest at the Livingscape Nursery 3926 N. Vancouver Avenue (Friday – Sunday) -Workshops on Care, Selection & Coop Building, Live Display of 20 Different Breeds, Fiddle Jam, March 28, 2-6pm
- Andy Simon Sings for Happy Hour and Family Dinner Concert at the Airplay Cafe, 5:30-7pm, free, 701 E Burnside
- Bryan Free, The Winebirds and others at Backspace, 9pm $6, 115 NW 5th
- The Dimes, Chris Robley and the Fear of Heights at the Mississippi Studios, 9pm, $8 (you should go see Chris Robley for only $8 while you still can, don’t wait until he is playing the Crystal and tix are $30) 3939 N Mississippi
Saturday
- Portland Farmers Market at the PSU Park Blocks Saturdays: March 21 – Dec. 19th 8:30 am – 2:00 pm
- Chicken Coop Building at the Community Room at People’s Food Co-op, 3029 SE 21st Ave. Learn what is necessary to build your hens a happy home, then enjoy a short walking tour of backyard chicken coops near People’s Food Co-op.
- 3D Center of Art and Photography presents History of the Stereo Card - 3D Center of Art and Photography, $5 for adults, under 15 get in free, 1928 NW Lovejoy
- Roller Derby at the Expo Center – doors at 5pm, $16-$24, this usually sells out more info here. 2060 N Marine Drive
- Twilight Rummage Sale at the Eagles Lodge – craft items and vintage pieces, 5pm-9pm, 4904 SE Hawthorne
- Viva Voce, The Shakey Hands at the Aladdin – I get to go to this, yay, it’s going to R-O-C-K! $12, 3017 SE Milwaukie Ave
Sunday
- Soap Box Derby Sign-Up at Beuhlaland – starts at 8am (but you can get in line at 4am, they will only take 39 entries for the August derby at Mt. Tabor)
- Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival – see a lot of tulips $10 per car load, 33814 S Meridian Rd Woodburn, OR
- Holcombe Waller and The Healers present Into the Dark Unknown: The Hope Chest - Portland Institute for Contemporary Art Imago Theater, $18, 17 SE 8th
Special Monday Event
- Dooce is going to be at Powell’s on Burnside – at 7:30pm for a siging of her new book It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita, get in line now, it will be packed with tons of moms and dads.
