Weekly update tracking New Listings March 22nd – 29th in Montavilla, Mt. Tabor, Center (N. Tabor), S. Tabor, Hawthorne, Laurelhurst, and Richmond neighborhoods. There were 13 “real” new listings (on market less than 1 week) that went on the market last week in this area of NE/SE Portland. Prices range from $134,900 – $675,000, and there is another new listing on Peacock Lane!

Weekly update tracking Sold Listings March 22nd – 29th in Montavilla, Mt. Tabor, Center (N. Tabor), S. Tabor, Hawthorne, Laurelhurst and Richmond neighborhoods. There was 1 home that sold last week in these neighborhoods, priced at $313k. There are 65 pending sales in these neighborhoods though so I hope some of these will close this month!

Voodoo Doughnuts – The Magic is in the Hole!

If you haven’t tried a Voodoo Doughnut then you should get into your car or onto your bike and head down there right now and put one in your mouth. The Sandy store is my favorite, located inside of an old Arctic Circle restaurant that is painted Pepto pink and decorated with tons of bizzarre things. Old school desks scattered around to sit at while you eat doughnuts with Capn’ Crunch cereal or Oreo’s on top. They even have a maple bar with a strip of bacon on top! Be careful not to get the one with cayenne pepper on it, it is spicy! In case you were wondering, they also perform wedding ceremonies. Open 21 hours (closed from 3am-6am), great place to stop in after a show. There are always cop cars out front so you know it is good.

Energy Efficiency Tax Credits 2009-2010
I just learned about these tax credits for making energy efficient improvements to your home in 2009-2010. I think I will go ahead and get some new windows this year.
Tax credits are available at 30% of the cost, up to $1,500 for improvements such as:
- Windows
- Doors
- Roof (metal and asphalt)
- HVAC
- Water Heaters
There are a lot more energy efficient tax credits available here is a detailed break down.
